Heather Baker Dobbs is an attorney licensed in California since November of 2008. She began clerking at Kirtland & Packard LLP in January 2008 during her final year of law school and has been at K&P ever since. Heather has worked in a wide range of practice areas at the firm from consumer class actions, products liability, roadway design, catastrophic personal injury, employment, elder abuse, wage and hour, and whistleblower cases.

Heather currently focuses most of her time on injury cases and employment matters. Through her years of litigation and hard fought wins in both trial and mediation, she has found that her true passion is in representing individuals who have been wronged by big corporations, nursing homes, insurance companies or the government and obtaining large favorable results on their behalf. Heather enjoys forging a trusting working relationship with her clients and helping them through their time of injury or wrongs in their employment.

Heather has recovered over $34,000,000 for her clients during her time at Kirtland & Packard. Some settlements of note include:

  • $8,945,000-Labra v. Boltz- young woman hit by driver who crossed center line and hit Ms. Labra head on. This case involved hotly disputed issues including the defense of “sudden medical emergency” that Heather and her team were able to overcome.

  • $6,000,000- Meyers v. Amador County and Caltrans- Plaintiff was rendered paraplegic after the vehicle wherein he was a passenger went off a cliff that should have had a guardrail.
  • $2,020,495- Patch v. Caltrans-12 day trial-elderly couple sustained injuries when they were forced off the road and crashed into a tree that should have been removed and was too close to the roadway.

Heather’s employment cases, many of which have resolved in confidential settlements and cannot be described by name, but have dealt with wide ranging issues from discrimination based on race, gender, age, marital status, and religion, as well as retaliation, sexual harassment, and wrongful termination.

Heather is well-versed in the ins and outs of every part of handling a case from inception to resolution. She takes a case from the initial client meeting all the way to trial or mediation. On a weekly basis she deals with the day to day of discovery, depositions, hiring experts, client contact, medical record analysis, drafting motions and briefs, attending hearings, mediation and trial. Additionally, Heather handles clients’ private insurance liens, Medi-Cal and Medicare liens and is able to provide added benefits in obtaining large reductions on behalf of her clients.

Heather is committed to the zealous representation of her clients in each of her cases, along with offering a personal side of transparent communication and compassion to clients along their litigation journey.

When outside of the office, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and their two young kids, being active outdoors including hiking and going to the beach, and eating her favorite food: chips and salsa.

Heather graduated magna cum laude from USC in 2005, with a double major in political science and psychology and a minor in business.

Heather received her Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University in May of 2008.
